Councils decide school places, so the first thing to find is your council. England has no single national map of schools, so we group schools by the council that covers them. Pick an area on the map, or use the list below it.
- Council areas. Neighbours are different colours, so you can see where one ends and the next begins.
- A school. Zoom in to see them, then tap one for its page.
The colours mean nothing on their own. They are only there so you can tell one council from the next and know what you are tapping.
The area shapes are rough, so near a border they are not exact. Use the map to find a council, not to check a single address. Being in a council area is not an offer of a place at any school in it.
